San Francisco / Santa Clara, October 2025 — Oracle Corporation has announced a landmark agreement with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to deploy 50,000 of AMD’s next-generation AI accelerators in Oracle’s cloud data centres, starting in the third quarter of 2026. The move is intended to bolster Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for AI workloads and challenge the dominance of other chip providers in the fast-growing artificial intelligence infrastructure market.

Under this new deal, the scale is dramatically increased: 50,000 AMD “Instinct MI450” series
GPUs will form the backbone of a new AI “supercluster” within Oracle’s cloud.

Oracle claims this vertically integrated approach (GPU + CPU + networking) can deliver superior cost efficiency compared to piecemeal cloud offerings.
The initial official deployment is planned for the third quarter of 2026, with the follow-up expansion to 2027 and potentially further.
Oracle will gradually implement the integration across its data centers worldwide, starting with areas where the need for AI computing is the greatest. Eventually, the GPU clusters that use these AMD units will be linked with other Oracle cloud products and services.
